What to Expect at Your DWI Evaluation
Our evaluation process follows OASAS standards and is designed to be thorough yet efficient, so you can move forward with restoring your license.
Session 1: Intake & History
Review of your arrest details, driving record abstract, substance use history, and psychosocial background. We'll discuss contributing factors and your perspective on the incident.
Session 2: Clinical Assessment
In-depth evaluation using standardized screening tools and clinical interviews covering mental health, family dynamics, employment, and risk factors for substance use disorder.
Session 3: Review & Reflection
This final session includes a comprehensive review of all documentation and any collateral information gathered. You will participate in a guided self-assessment that focuses on building insight, accountability, and motivation for positive change to reduce the risk of future incidents.
After Your Evaluation
Following the completion of all three sessions, a thorough clinical review is conducted. The evaluator will contact you within one week to discuss the clinical decision ("Treatment Recommended" or "No Treatment Recommended"). The recommendation is then submitted directly to the NYS DMV Impaired Driver System (IDS) on your behalf.
