Nassau County Treatment Center Pairs Structured Sober Living with Outpatient Rehab for Stronger Recovery Results
BALDWIN, NY — September 2026 — Integrity Treatment Partners coordinates with Integrity Sober Homes, an affiliated men's recovery housing program in Freeport and Uniondale. Clinical outpatient care — including therapy, intensive outpatient programs, and medication-assisted treatment — stays at the Baldwin clinic. The homes provide daily accountability and peer support.
Integrity Sober Homes operates independently from the clinic and coordinates on treatment planning and attendance. House expectations include curfews, 12-step meeting attendance, and a sponsor. Residents attend outpatient treatment at Integrity Treatment Partners, then return to a sober environment with peers who are working toward the same goals.
"Recovery doesn't happen in a vacuum," said Samantha Callister, LMSW, Executive Director of Integrity Treatment Partners. "Someone can do great in therapy three hours a day, but if they go home to the same environment — the same people, the same patterns — it's an uphill fight. Sober living gives people a stable place to practice what they're learning in treatment."

Patients in alcohol treatment may receive Vivitrol, individual therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and group counseling. Vivitrol is a monthly naltrexone injection that is FDA-approved to treat alcohol dependence. It is not a controlled substance.
Integrity Sober Homes operates men's houses in Freeport and Uniondale. Houses have on-site house managers. Transportation to treatment is available for residents who do not have their own vehicle.
The houses also maintain strong connections to local AA and NA groups, and many residents attend meetings daily in addition to their clinical treatment. This layered approach — clinical care, structured housing, and peer support — creates a recovery environment that extends well beyond the therapy room.
For families searching for sober homes on Long Island, the clinic can refer men to Integrity Sober Homes and schedule clinic intake separately. Insurance may cover the clinical treatment. Housing rent is separate. Integrity Sober Homes lists DSS housing vouchers and self-pay.

"The combination works because it removes the gaps," said Michael Mechow, CASAC-II, Clinical Director. "The person wakes up in a sober house, goes to treatment, comes back to a sober house. There's nowhere for the addiction to hide."

We've seen the difference firsthand. Patients who live in a structured sober home while attending outpatient treatment stay in the program longer and have a much easier time building the daily habits that keep them sober after treatment ends. — Samantha Callister, LMSW, Executive Director, Integrity Treatment Partners
