When you use an accredited facility for medically supervised detox or inpatient rehabilitation, these services are often fully approved. This allows you to focus completely on your health in a safe, medically supervised environment.
Outpatient Services: Following a higher level of care, or for those who need a more flexible option, your plan provides excellent coverage for outpatient services including Individual Therapy (1-on-1 Addiction Treatment) tailored to you. This makes ongoing support accessible and affordable.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): The Empire Plan includes a robust prescription drug program that covers proven medications used to treat substance use disorder. At Integrity Treatment Partners, we utilize MAT to support recovery, and your plan helps cover medications like Suboxone and Vivitrol. Even newer, innovative treatments like Brixadi are covered under the plan, ensuring you have access to the most effective options available.

A: No. The Empire Plan is designed for freedom of choice. You do not need a referral to see an in-network specialist, which includes our addiction treatment services. You can call us directly to schedule a confidential assessment.
Q: Is my treatment for substance use confidential?
A: Absolutely. All treatment is protected by strict federal privacy laws (HIPAA). The Empire Plan and its administrators are required to protect the confidentiality of your health information.55 Your privacy is our utmost priority.
Q: What if I need detox before I can start outpatient treatment?
A: Your NYSHIP Empire Plan covers all levels of care. We will help coordinate your admission to one of our trusted partner facilities, like Wellbridge or Long Island Center for Recovery, for medically supervised detox. Your plan covers inpatient detox at no charge when you use an in-network facility.
Q: Does my plan cover treatment for my spouse or children?
A: Yes, eligible dependents, including spouses, domestic partners, and children up to age 26, are covered under your plan. The "Young Adult Option" may also allow a child to purchase coverage through your plan until their 30th birthday.
Q: How does the plan help with the cost of medications like Suboxone or Vivitrol?
A: The Empire Plan has a comprehensive prescription drug program with a tiered co-payment system that makes treatment affordable. At Integrity Treatment Partners, we use a full range of FDA-approved medications to support recovery, all of which are covered benefits under your plan:
